English Cover Supervisor

Location: Birmingham

Start Date: ASAP

Day Rate: £90 – £110

Elevate Supply is supporting secondary schools in Birmingham to recruit a confident and enthusiastic English Cover Supervisor. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering pre-planned English lessons in the absence of the regular class teacher.

Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-set English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students

  • Maintain classroom focus and ensure smooth delivery of learning

  • Promote engagement with reading, writing, and discussion

  • Report on pupil behaviour and lesson outcomes to teaching staff

  • Provide general cover across subjects when required

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience working with young people in a school or education setting

  • A strong interest in English language and literature

  • Confident classroom presence and effective communication skills

  • Reliable, adaptable, and proactive approach to the role

  • A degree in English or a related subject is desirable but not essential

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
