Science Cover Supervisor – Manchester | Elevate Supply

Elevate Supply is currently seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Science Cover Supervisor to support across our fantastic partner secondary schools in Manchester. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with a strong science background to make a real impact in the classroom while gaining valuable experience in education.

This full-time position is available to start immediately and will run through the rest of the academic year to cover for maternity leave.

Pay Rate: £95 – £110 per day, depending on experience.

The Role:

You’ll be supervising science lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring students remain engaged and on-task with pre-prepared materials in the absence of their regular teacher. A strong grasp of scientific concepts will help you support pupils’ understanding and maintain a high standard of learning.

Your Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support students in science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

• Deliver pre-set work and help students stay focused and engaged

• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies

• Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and any classroom issues

• Create a safe and positive learning environment in science labs and classrooms

What We’re Looking For:

• A degree in a science-related subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics) is required

• Previous experience working with secondary students is highly desirable

• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach

• Confident managing classroom behaviour and supporting learning

• Available full-time and ready to start immediately
