First things first! What is Twinkl? What is Twinkl's mission?

Twinkl is here to "help those who teach." It's what brings us to work every day. We're proud to create educational resources that can be used at each step of a child's learning journey.
Our award-winning resource collection - created by teachers for teachers - provides unlimited supplementary digital and printable teaching resources at an unbeatable value.
We have over a million editable resources, and new content is added every day. We make bespoke resources for our members as part of our world-class customer service promise to help those who teach.
We support educators and children around the world, and we’re committed to transforming lives through education.

The Job Role:

Like to hustle? Ambitious and proactive? We’re looking for the right person to join the entrepreneurial teams that comprise Twinkl’s core customer segments. You will be responsible for supporting the ongoing development and growth of our Prac and Pre-Service Teacher community.

You'll start as a University Liaison, directly connecting with customers and universities around Australia via a variety of different communication channels to highlight and demonstrate the benefits of Twinkl's Australia Prac and Pre-Service Teachers' products and resources. You'll be moving into this position as a team of one with the support of many, so you’ll need to take a rapid iterative approach, employing different marketing and business development techniques to get the message out to customers and universities. You'll be the person responsible for defining, building, managing and supporting user growth within the Australia Prac and Pre-Service Teachers customer segment. You will be commercially minded and comfortable in making decisions on where to pursue opportunities. You will be responsible for reporting monthly and quarterly in line with business expectations.

This is a very varied role that involves both proactive strategic planning and reactive work as you pivot and respond to the demands of your growing market.

A typical week could involve any of the following:

  • Showing tenacity and drive, and going above and beyond to reach new customers and build up and connect with studying students.

  • Connecting with Australian universities to build rapport and offer support to all studying students (1st year - final year).

  • Engaging with customers within the Prac and Pre-Service Teacher market via social media channels and the weekly newsletter, and working alongside the Trainee Teachers Segment Manager in the UK to develop plans for potential development and direction of the segment and how to grow this.

  • Digital Optimisation - ensuring content is up to date, looking at the overall user experience of the Australian Prac and Pre-Service Teachers of the Twinkl site and working with our web and design teams to continuously improve this.

  • Business management and strategy – putting plans in place to help achieve our ambitious growth targets. Working with other Segment and Country Managers to understand what’s working and how we can improve.

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • A strong entrepreneurial mindset and a propensity for action.

  • Thorough knowledge of the Australian Prac and Pre-Service Teachers market, and of our customers.

  • Have relevant and recent professional qualifications and teaching experience; Undergraduate, Postgraduate or Masters degree in primary/secondary education or appropriate equivalent degree;

  • Sound decision-making skills and diligent in seizing new opportunities.

  • Commercially astute and a strategic thinker who is comfortable taking calculated risks and being accountable for successes and failures.

  • Ability to communicate a shared vision and motivate individuals and a team.

  • Methodical, highly organised, accurate and execution focused

You’ll work with:

  • Rebecca Usherwood - Head of APAC and Australian Country Manager

  • The Australia Segment Managers team

  • The UK Trainee Teachers Segment Manager/University Liaison

We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:

  • Cares passionately about the education and Australian teaching community, particularly those who are new to the profession.

  • Experience marketing a product within the education sector.

  • Thorough knowledge of the education system in Australia.

  • A minimum of two years experience working as a primary and/or secondary teacher.

  • Understands what good prioritisation is and values output and results.

  • Is super-positive and optimistic and works well within a range of teams.

  • Is resilient and can respond to internal and external feedback positively and professionally.

  • A strong entrepreneurial mindset and a propensity for action.

  • Sound decision-making skills and diligent in seizing new opportunities

In return for everything you can bring, we can offer you an exciting role in a fast-growing and dynamic business, with plenty of career opportunities.

Here are a couple of the things that make Twinkl a great place to be:

  • A friendly, welcoming and supportive culture. We believe work should be fun and always put people before process.
