Job Introduction

SEN Teaching Assistant – Bradford South

We’re currently working with a supportive and inclusive special school in Bradford South (BD5/BD6 area), looking to appoint full-time Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants to start as soon as possible. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, with the potential to become a permanent member of staff following a successful initial period.

The school caters to students aged 5–19 with a variety of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Global Developmental Delay (GDD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). They provide a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to thrive at their own pace.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and is confident working 1:1 or in small groups.

Pay: £90–£110 per day (depending on experience)

Location: Easily accessible from Wibsey, Buttershaw, Low Moor, and surrounding areas.

The Role:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm
  • Working under the direction of class teachers and senior LSAs to prepare tailored resources
  • Supporting individual pupils with learning, behaviour, and social/emotional needs.
  • Encouraging independence and helping students work towards their personal targets
  • Providing personal care and supporting students with physical needs when required
  • Assisting with classroom routines and general supervision across the school

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a genuine desire to work with children with special needs
  • Be proactive, calm, and confident when faced with new challenges
  • Have GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications)
  • Ideally have experience working in an SEN or care setting, but this is not essential
  • Be willing to work flexibly across the whole school and with different age groups

Please note: due to the needs of the students, this role is full-time only.

As part of our commitment to safeguarding, all applicants must have or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check. An online search may also be completed as part of our safer recruitment checks.

Free safeguarding and Prevent training will be provided to all successful applicants.
