SEN Teaching Assistant – Sheffield (Close to Train Station) | Elevate Supply

Elevate Supply is thrilled to be working with a vibrant and inclusive SEN provision in central Sheffield, located just a short walk from the main train station. We’re currently seeking a passionate and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of additional needs in a nurturing, specialist setting.

This full-time position is to begin as soon as possible and will run through to the end of the academic year, with potential to extend for the right candidate.

🟢 Pay Rate: £85 – £100 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll be supporting pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Working under the direction of experienced teachers and support staff, you’ll play a crucial role in helping young learners thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs

• Assist in the delivery of personalised learning plans and classroom activities

• Use effective behaviour management and emotional regulation techniques

• Support pupils with personal care and sensory needs (if required)

• Promote student independence, confidence, and engagement

• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SENCOs

• Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to a safe learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN (essential)

• A calm, caring, and patient approach with a genuine desire to help others

• Confidence in supporting behaviour and emotional wellbeing

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills

• A flexible and proactive mindset

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
