English Cover Supervisor – North Sheffield (S5) | Elevate Supply

Elevate Supply is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in North Sheffield (S5) to recruit a reliable and engaging English Cover Supervisor. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for English literature and language to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a classroom setting.

This full-time role is to start immediately and will run through to the end of the academic year.

🟢 Pay Rate: £85 – £110 per day, depending on experience.

The Role:

As an English Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-set lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students stay focused and engaged with their English studies. You'll support learning across a range of abilities and contribute to a positive classroom environment.

Your Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-planned English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students

• Encourage students to engage with reading, writing, and discussion

• Provide brief feedback to teaching staff about student progress and participation

• Support other subject areas with general cover supervision when needed

• Collaborate with teachers and leaders to ensure consistency and high standards

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience working with young people in a school, tutoring, or education setting

• A strong interest in English language and literature

• Excellent communication skills

• The confidence to lead a classroom and support student learning

• Adaptability, reliability, and a proactive mindset

• A degree in English or a related subject is desirable but not essential

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
