General Cover Supervisor – Sheffield | Elevate Supply

Elevate Supply is on the lookout for a confident and adaptable General Cover Supervisor to work across a range of subjects in several of our brilliant partner secondary schools in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students’ learning in a dynamic classroom environment, while gaining valuable experience in education.

This full-time role is to start immediately and will continue through the remainder of the academic year.

🟢 Pay Rate: £100 – £130 per day, depending on experience.

The Role: As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into classrooms across KS3 and KS4 to deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. You'll help maintain a positive learning environment and ensure that students remain on task.

Your Responsibilities:

• Supervise classes during teacher absences across a variety of subjects

• Ensure students are focused and completing set work

• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and in line with school policy

• Report on student progress and behaviour to relevant staff

• Support pupils in understanding tasks where appropriate

What We’re Looking For:

• A degree in a relevant subject is required

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students (e.g. in a school, tutoring, mentoring or youth work)

• Excellent communication and classroom management skills

• A flexible, calm and confident approach

• Available full-time and ready to start immediately
