Job Title: Science Cover Supervisor

Location: Birmingham

Start Date: Immediate

Day Rate: £85 – £110

Elevate Supply is working with a secondary schools in Birmingham to recruit a Science Cover Supervisor for an immediate start. This role will run through to the end of the academic year, providing cover across Key Stage 3 and 4 Science lessons in place of the regular classroom teacher.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a science background looking to gain hands-on experience in schools, while supporting young people with their learning and engagement in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Role Responsibilities:

• Supervise and deliver pre-planned science lessons across KS3 and KS4.

• Support students with classwork, ensuring they remain on task and engaged.

• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

• Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons.

• Create a calm, safe and positive learning environment during cover lessons.

Candidate Requirements:

• A degree in a science-related subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics).

• Experience working with young people or in a school setting is highly desirable.

• Strong communication and classroom management skills.

• A proactive, professional approach and confidence in leading a classroom.

• Available to work full-time from May 2025.
