English Cover Supervisor – South Sheffield (S8) | Elevate Supply

Elevate Supply is proud to be working with a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in South Sheffield (S8) in the search for a confident and enthusiastic English Cover Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate with a passion for English language and literature to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

This full-time role is to begin as soon as possible and will continue until the end of the academic year.

🟢 Pay Rate: £85 – £110 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Role:
As an English Cover Supervisor, you’ll be delivering pre-prepared lessons in English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4 during teacher absence. You’ll be a key part of a creative and collaborative department, helping students engage with texts, develop critical thinking, and grow in confidence with their written and spoken communication.

Your Responsibilities:

• Supervise the delivery of pre-planned English lessons (KS3/KS4)

• Support students in completing work and staying focused

• Manage classroom behaviour and uphold a positive learning environment

• Provide feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes

• Build strong rapport with students and contribute to their academic progress

• Support the wider school community and uphold its values

What We’re Looking For:

• A degree in English, English Literature, or a related field (essential)

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting (desirable)

• Strong communication, organisation, and classroom management skills

• A genuine passion for literature, language, and student development

• A proactive, professional, and team-oriented mindset

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
