Elevate Supply are looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive primary school in Selly Oak, Birmingham. This role will involve providing direct support to students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) and other learning difficulties, helping them to access the curriculum and engage in school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 1:1 Support: Provide individual support to students with SEMH, helping them understand lesson content and achieve learning objectives.
  • Small Group Work: Deliver targeted interventions to small groups of students, promoting inclusion and academic progress.
  • Classroom Assistance: Assist teachers with differentiation and classroom management, ensuring that students with SEMH are included and supported.
  • Behavioural Support: Help students manage their behaviour and emotions, using strategies to foster a positive classroom environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the SENCO and other support staff to develop and implement tailored learning plans for students.


Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEMH or other SEN is desirable, but not essential.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to adapt to different students’ needs.
  • Qualifications: A background in psychology, special education, or a related field is desirable but not required.
  • Personality: Empathetic, patient, and resilient, with a strong desire to support students in their educational journey.
