Learning Support Assistant – West Manchester | Elevate Supply

Elevate Supply is delighted to be working in partnership with a nurturing and forward-thinking Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in West Manchester to recruit a compassionate and committed Learning Support Assistant. This is an incredible opportunity for someone with a caring nature and a passion for supporting children with additional needs to make a genuine impact in a rewarding educational setting.

This full-time role is available for an immediate start and will continue through the academic year, with strong potential for a long-term position or progression into a specialist education pathway.

🟢 Pay Rate: £95 – £110 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils across a range of needs—including Autism, ADHD, and Speech & Language difficulties—providing 1:1 or small group support in and out of the classroom. You'll be joining a compassionate and expert team dedicated to creating an inclusive, structured, and empowering learning environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support students with learning activities, emotional regulation, and communication

  • Implement strategies recommended by therapists and teaching staff

  • Adapt resources and approaches to meet individual needs

  • Foster a calm, positive, and respectful environment at all times

  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure holistic care

  • Promote independence, confidence, and engagement among learners

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (essential)

  • A background in education, care, youth work, or psychology (desirable)

  • Calm, empathetic, and patient with strong behaviour management skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  • A positive attitude and commitment to inclusive education

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Perks & Benefits:

  • Free Twinkl subscription to support your work with tailored SEN resources

  • Access to expert guidance and ongoing support from the Elevate team

  • Opportunities for permanent placements or future training pathways

  • A deeply supportive and child-centred school community

If you’re driven by compassion and want to help every child achieve their potential, we’d love to hear from you.
