Behaviour Mentor (SEMH) - North Manchester
Location: North Manchester
Start Date: April 2025
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Elevate Supply are looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join a small Primary School school in North Manchester. The role will involve providing direct support to students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), and other learning difficulties, helping them to fully access the curriculum and engage in school life.
Key Responsibilities:
1:1 Support: Provide individual support to students with SEN, helping them understand lesson content and achieve learning objectives.
Small Group Work: Deliver targeted interventions to small groups of students with specific needs, promoting inclusion and academic progress.
Classroom Assistance: Assist teachers with differentiation and classroom management, ensuring that students with SEN are included and supported.
Behavioural Support: Help students manage their behaviour and emotions, using strategies to foster a positive classroom environment.
Collaboration: Work closely with the SENCO and other support staff to develop and implement tailored learning plans for students.
Ideal Candidate:
Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEN, particularly Autism or SEMH, is highly desirable.
Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to adapt to different students’ needs.
Qualifications: A background in psychology, special education, or a related field is desirable.
Personality: Empathetic, patient, and resilient, with a strong desire to support students in their educational journey.
