SEN Teacher – South Sheffield (S8) | Elevate Supply

Elevate Supply is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking SEN school in South Sheffield (S8) to recruit a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs, including those with behavioral challenges, supporting them to thrive both academically and personally.

This full-time teaching role is to begin as soon as possible and will continue through to the end of the academic year, with potential for extension.

🟒 Pay Rate: Β£140 – Β£200 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.


The Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering tailored, high-quality lessons to students with a range of complex needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other behavioral difficulties. You will work closely with support staff, therapists, and senior leaders to create a calm, engaging, and structured learning environment.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet a range of SEN and behavioral needs

  • Foster a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment

  • Implement and contribute to behaviour management strategies and individual behaviour plans

  • Work collaboratively with support staff to maintain consistency and care

  • Monitor and report on pupil progress using school systems

  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and multi-agency professionals

  • Take part in whole-school training and contribute to the wider school community


What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS

  • Strong experience supporting students with behavioral needs and/or SEMH

  • Background in SEN teaching within specialist or mainstream provisions

  • A nurturing, patient, and resilient teaching approach

  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Confidence working with challenging behaviour and the ability to de-escalate situations calmly

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
