Elevate Supply – Cover Supervisor (Sheffield)
Pay: £85 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)

About the Role:

Elevate Supply is looking for a dynamic and confident Cover Supervisor to join the support staff at a secondary school in Sheffield. This temporary role offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience within a secondary school setting. As a Cover Supervisor, you will ensure that students complete pre-set tasks effectively and manage classroom behaviour in line with school policy.

We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in the following areas:

• Sports Coaches – Those who are confident in managing large groups and are familiar with behaviour management.
• Youth/Community Workers – Individuals who have experience in youth/community settings and can ensure students stay focused on their tasks.
• Tutors/Mentors – Those with experience in tutoring or mentoring, as the skills gained in these roles are highly transferable to being an effective cover supervisor.
• School Experience – Applicants who have prior experience in a school setting and are looking to further develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the classroom environment is suitable for effective learning.
• Monitor student behavior in line with school policy and provide feedback to senior leadership as required.
• Support students by offering guidance and assistance with the work set.
• Display a confident and authoritative presence in the classroom.
• Adapt to different subjects and confidently manage the tasks assigned.
• Engage students effectively and work collaboratively with the teaching staff.

Requirements:

• No planning or marking involved.
• The ability to manage a classroom and keep students focused on their work.
• Confidence in working with large groups of students and ensuring that expectations are met.

Pay: £85 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Typical School Day: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
