Job Introduction

Elevate Supply are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join a welcoming primary school in North Manchester to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This rewarding position offers the chance to make a significant impact on young learners’ lives while working in a supportive and inclusive environment.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have additional needs, providing tailored support to help them thrive both academically and socially. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to pupils with SEND.

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and fostering a nurturing learning atmosphere.

  • Supporting children’s social, emotional, and educational development.

  • Collaborating with staff and parents to ensure pupils receive the best possible care and support.

This role offers the opportunity to join the school on a temporary basis through Elevate Supply, with the potential to transition to a permanent contract after a successful probation period. To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Professional or personal experience working with children with SEND or young children.

  • A patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic approach to supporting children with diverse needs.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

A proactive attitude and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. While formal qualifications are not essential, they are advantageous, and any relevant experience in education, childcare, or support work will be highly valued.
