Location: South Africa - 100% Remote / Home Working (Must permanently live in South Africa & have the right to work without restrictions to apply for this role)
Pay Rate: $6.50
Contract: 12-month initial contract (Highly likely to be extended, but no guarantees) - Self-employed contractor. Responsible for own taxes.

The Role:
You’ll be joining a team of passionate teachers working to edit Twinkl South Africa’s content for teachers across the SA. The majority of your time will be spent working with Content Writers, Designers and Illustrators and engaging with product priorities to facilitate the highest possible quality of teacher content for our customers. Your weekly activities could include:
checking a broad range of new resources for spelling, punctuation, grammar, curriculum relevance, sensitivity and factual accuracy;
sensitively offering feedback, advice and support to our writers where needed;
demonstrating excellent communication skills with the writers, designers and illustrators whom you collaborate with;
curating existing content on site to ensure that it is up to date and meets customers' needs.

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about giving back to the education community and keen to share their expertise with others in their team. This position is a work-from-home, flexible position. Some set time commitments for meetings are required as well as time when you start for training.
To succeed in the role, you will:
have a teaching qualification PGCE, B.Ed or equivalent;
have 2 years of full classroom teaching experience;
be a confident practitioner in the delivery of the English and Afrikaans curriculum;
be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team;
have detailed and up-to-date knowledge of CAPS;
be prepared to confidently work between different IT platforms, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and G Suite;
understand the teaching community in SA, knowing their unique pressures and current educational trends;
have a drive for continuous professional development.
In this role, you will learn:
how to check content and provide feedback for our writers;
how to work in ‘agile’ teams, allowing you to solve problems and change tasks quickly to meet deadlines;
how to collaborate with educational professionals through our company focus groups and customer feedback requests;
how to create new products, from ideation stage to publication.
how to use Project Tracking software as well as other in-house systems.
You’ll work with:
Our South African team leaders and Wendy Pienaar (Country manager)
Your own direct Line Manager who will be confirmed if you are successful.
Our team of qualified teachers who currently write, edit and produce content.
Our amazing in-house design and illustration teams, collaborating daily to produce the beautiful, polished resources that Twinkl are known for.
We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:
Has taught creative and engaging language lessons.
Has detailed knowledge of the content of CAPS.
Has led a language as a subject leader or co-ordinator.
Access to a fast and reliable internet connection of at least 6mb down and 1mb upload. We recommend you use speedtest.net to check.
Has solar or generator power and is able to work during loadshedding.
