We support educators and children around the world, and we’re committed to transforming lives through education.

Whoever you are, whatever you teach, Twinkl is here for you!

The Role:

Like to hustle? Ambitious and proactive? We’re looking for the right person to join the entrepreneurial teams that comprise Twinkl’s core customer segments. You will be responsible for supporting the ongoing development and growth of our Australian Primary teaching community.

You'll start as a passionate marketeer, connecting with customers directly via various communication channels to highlight and demonstrate the benefits of Twinkl's Australia primary-specific resources. You'll be moving into this position as a team leader to a small team of marketing assistants with the support of many. You’ll need to take a rapid iterative approach, employing different marketing and business development techniques to get the message out to customers. You'll be responsible for defining, building and managing the right team to support user growth within the Australian Primary teaching segment. You will be commercially minded and comfortable deciding where to pursue opportunities. You will be responsible for reporting monthly and quarterly in line with business expectations.

This is a very varied role that involves both proactive strategic planning and reactive work as you pivot and respond to the demands of your growing market.

A typical week could involve any of the following:

  • Showing tenacity and drive, and going above and beyond to reach new customers and build your segment.
  • Engaging with customers within our primary education segment, connecting with Australian teachers and influential associations, and working alongside other Segment Managers in Australia to develop plans for potential development and direction of primary-specific resources.
  • Sales and marketing:  Spreading the word to new customers whom we can help and support! Creating and managing specific social media activity and ensuring the right messages reach our customers at the right time. Connecting with Australian teachers, large organisations and influential decision-makers within the primary school community. Your team of Marketing Assistants will help execute these strategies.
  • Digital optimisation – Creating and executing high-quality user experience for Australian teachers via our web and design teams and continuously improving this.
  • Business management and strategy – Putting plans in place to help achieve our ambitious growth targets and working with other Segment Managers to understand what’s working and how we can improve.

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • A strong entrepreneurial mindset and a propensity for action.
  • Have relevant and recent professional qualifications and teaching experience; Undergraduate, Postgraduate or Masters degree in primary education or appropriate equivalent degree;
  • Sound decision-making skills and diligent in seizing new opportunities.
  • Commercially astute and a strategic thinker being comfortable taking calculated risks and being accountable for successes and failures.
  • Ability to communicate a shared vision and motivate individuals and a team.
  • Methodical, highly organised, accurate and execution focused

You’ll work with:

  • Rebecca Usherwood - Head of APAC and Australian Country Manager, will be your line manager and mentor.
  • The Australia Segment Managers Team
  • The Australian Product Owners Team
  • The Australian Marketing team, who you will lead and manage.
  • The Twinkl Partnerships Team

We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:

  • Cares passionately about literature and the education that happens within local and school libraries.
  • Experience marketing a product within the education sector.
  • Thorough knowledge of the education system in Australia.
  • A minimum of two years experience working as a primary teacher
  • Understands what good prioritisation is, and values output and results.
  • Is super-positive, optimistic and works well within a range of teams.
  • Is resilient and can respond to internal and external feedback positively and professionally.
  • A strong entrepreneurial mindset and a propensity for action.
  • Sound decision-making skills and diligent in seizing new opportunities
