We are looking for an experienced educational content writer with a strong background in Mandarin Chinese education to join our content creation team. In this role, you will develop high-quality Mandarin Chinese and bilingual resources (English and Chinese) for teachers and parents in China and globally. You will collaborate with writers, illustrators, designers, and the product owner to create systematic teaching materials for Mandarin Chinese as a second language. Familiarity with Chinese language proficiency tests (YCT, HSK) and effective language learning methods is essential. Fluency in Mandarin and English is required.

Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:

  • Writing new Mandarin and bilingual teaching resources, ensuring relevance to Chinese Patriotic education needs, and supporting teaching and learning across China.

  • Develop structured content for YCT and HSK test preparation and systematic language learning for teachers and parents all over the world.

  • Research trends, address content gaps, and support marketing with Mandarin Chinese or learning Chinese resources.

  • Responding to editorial feedback and working alongside colleagues to produce high quality resources.

  • Producing resources which respond to customer needs and current teaching methodologies.

  • Meeting with other members of the team to discuss and develop new ideas.

  • Demonstrating excellent communication skills with others in your team. Keeping communication channels open throughout your working day.

  • Attending any team meetings.


To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Be Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and skilled in creating culturally authentic resources.

  • Have Experience in Mandarin Education or prior work as an educator in China.

  • Know Chinese Educational Standards and align content with local expectations.

  • Work Collaboratively with writers, designers, and product owners.

  • Stay Current on trends to develop relevant, engaging resources.

In this role, you will learn:

  • How to create engaging Mandarin and bilingual resources tailored for teachers, parents, and students in and outside China.

  • How to review and enhance content quality through customer feedback.

  • How to work in agile teams, adapting quickly to changing tasks and deadlines.

  • How to apply your teaching experience to develop culturally relevant products and mandarin teaching products.

  • How to use project tracking tools and other in-house systems effectively.

You’ll work with:

  • Twinkl China Educational Content Lead.

  • China content executive.

  • Qualified teachers who write, edit and produce content for the China team.

  • Our in-house design and illustration teams, collaborating to produce our fantastic product.


We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following: 

  • Hold a qualification in Mandarin Language Teaching

  • Have experience teaching Mandarin or working in Chinese education before.

  • Fluent in Mandarin with knowledge of Chinese cultural and educational standards.

  • Skilled in creating educational content, especially for Mandarin language learners or culturally-focused resources.

  • Familiar with Chinese language proficiency tests (YCT, HSK) and Mandarin language learning methods.

  • Knowledgeable about Chinese Patriotic education and cultural trends.
