This role is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join a fast-growing,  private equity-backed, international business. The successful candidate will play a critical role in financial reporting, delivering work with a direct financial and operational impact.

Day to day, your main responsibilities would include:

  • Responsible for revenue recognition (including deferred revenue from annual subscriptions) for the group companies
  • Leading the monthly management accounts process, including variance analysis and narrative
  • Consolidate financial statements across various entities, providing a Group-wide view of financial health, revenue growth and profitability
  • Assist with audit preparation and guiding Twinkl and other group companies through audit queries
  • Complete quarterly VAT returns for group companies, and international direct sales tax returns
  • Ensuring processes and procedures are compliant with changes in legislation and regulations
  • Reviewing and improving existing finance systems, processes and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy in reporting
  • Oversee monthly bank reconciliation and posting of financial transactions
  • Be the primary point of contact for technical and process questions from Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable team members, including supporting members of the Accounts team with month-end processes and invoicing
  • Assist with the preparation of annual forecasts by customer segment and country
  • Support with the monthly reporting of variance to target results, assisting the Country Managers, Segment Managers, and other stakeholders to understand the data 
  • Support the assessment, integration and reporting processes for acquired businesses

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified 
  • Ideally 2-4 years experience in a management accounting role, ideally within a multi-entity organisation, subscription-based business model, or high-growth consumer business, but not essential. 
  • Strong knowledge of FRS 102
  • Experience with consolidated reporting, across multiple legal entities
  • Experience of managing intercompany transactions and funding requirements
  • Knowledge of subscription revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, able to use the findings to develop targeted solutions
  • Excellent attention to detail, spotting errors, and working with the business to correct these
  • Proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information to team members outside of Finance
