SEO Data Analyst
Location: Remote UK
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours (Core hours 10:00 am-2:00 pm Monday-Friday)

We are looking for an experienced and technically-minded SEO Data Analyst to join our SEO team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an analyst with a background in SEO to apply their skills to large-scale, SEO-first sites.
You will be the bridge between our data and the actionable insights that shape our organic growth strategy. You won't just be reporting numbers; you'll be using your technical skills to analyse large-scale data, uncovering trends, opportunities, and the "why" behind our performance.
We're looking for someone who pairs deep, hands-on SEO knowledge with strong technical data skills, and who can operate with a good degree of autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
Use SQL to query and extract large datasets from our data warehouse, including web traffic, rankings, and crawl data.
Utilise Python (using libraries like Pandas/Polars, NumPy, Matplotlib) to clean, analyse, and visualise data to identify performance trends and opportunities.
Own the design and maintenance of dashboards and reports in tools like Google Data Studio or Tableau to monitor key SEO metrics.
Analyse SERP (Search Engine Results Page) landscapes, competitor performance, and other forms of search data to inform content and technical SEO strategy.
Collaborate with the wider teams to provide data-driven recommendations.
Design and run SEO tests and other experiments, analysing the results to prove the effectiveness of our SEO initiatives.
Communicate complex findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Experience:
SQL: You are comfortable writing queries to join, filter, and aggregate data from multiple tables.
Demonstrable SEO experience: a strong track record in SEO, with a solid grasp of technical SEO, on-page/content, ranking factors, and how search engines crawl and index at scale.
Analytical tooling: working knowledge of GA4, Google Search Console, and at least one enterprise crawler or SEO platform (e.g. Botify, Sitebulb, Ahrefs, Semrush).Python for data analysis: You have practical experience using Python for data manipulation and analysis.
Data visualisation: experience building reporting in tools like Google Data Studio, Tableau, or Power BI.
A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset: You can break down complex questions, form a hypothesis, and use data to find the answer..
Clear communication skills: You can articulate your findings and the story behind the data.
A proactive attitude and a desire to learn and develop new skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience (Beneficial but not required):
Experience working with APIs to extract and combine data from multiple SEO and analytics sources.
Experience with BigQuery or another cloud data warehouse.
Experience working with large websites (1m+ pages)
A broader interest in digital marketing beyond SEO
