Overview
This role focuses on creating engaging social-first content, capturing the voice of the customer, and building meaningful educator communities through social media and digital channels. The Marketing Assistant will support the creation of short-form video, campaign content, and community initiatives that connect with educators and drive engagement. Through hands-on execution across social media, content production, and marketing campaigns, this role helps Twinkl deliver timely, insight-driven content that strengthens educator relationships and drives measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media, Communities and educator engagement:
Develop and execute social media tactics to build a strong online presence, foster engagement, and drive organic growth.
Engage educators across social channels, including Meta, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, (among others)…along with various community spaces, fostering conversation, advocacy, and meaningful brand connections.
Support and drive ambassador programs and community-led campaigns, driving awareness, consideration, and preference among educators.
Support campaign execution across social media and community channels.
Plan and deliver “surprise and delight” initiatives, including giveaways and engagement activities tailored to educator motivations.
Build authentic connections with educators and school leaders, staying active in threads, calls, or local meetups.
Help manage community programs such as mentorships and recognition campaigns.
Report on social media and community engagement metrics weekly.
Identify relevant influencers and execute outreach to build partnerships that support campaigns, community engagement, and brand visibility.
Marketing content production:
Create insight-driven content tailored to diverse educator needs for owned channels, including video content and user-generated content.
Produce high-quality, educator-focused content for social campaigns, onsite experiences, and other marketing channels.
Curate and create educator-led stories and spotlights that amplify community voices and showcase authentic educator experiences.
Deliver content that aligns with Twinkl’s brand voice, values, and educator-first philosophy.
Ensure all content is delivered on time and maintains high-quality standards.
Voice of the customer:
Continuously gather and share audience insights, from behaviours to direct feedback, to inform strategy, shape content, and ensure marketing aligns with real educator needs.
Monitor trends, competitors, and conversations across social listening and communities to identify opportunities and areas for improvement.
Translate audience and social insights into actionable plans that enhance impact, improve the educator experience, and guide marketing initiatives.
To succeed in the role, you will:
Create, edit, and publish engaging social-first content, including short-form video, reels, stories, and educator-focused creative for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
Develop and execute social media strategies that increase reach, engagement, traffic, and follower growth through insight-led content and campaigns.
Build and nurture authentic relationships with educators and school leaders through active community management, conversations, and social engagement.
Capture and apply the voice of the educator, translating audience feedback, trends, and insights into relevant content ideas and marketing initiatives.
Produce compelling educator-first content across video, blogs, email, and onsite experiences, ensuring alignment with Twinkl’s brand voice and values.
Manage multiple content streams, campaigns, and community initiatives while maintaining strong organization, attention to detail, and timely delivery.
Monitor social listening, platform trends, competitor activity, and community conversations to identify opportunities for content growth and innovation.
Support ambassador programs, influencer partnerships, and community-led campaigns that strengthen educator advocacy and brand connection.
Track, analyse, and report on social media and community KPIs, using performance insights to optimize content and improve impact.
Work independently with confidence while collaborating across teams, bringing creativity, accountability, and proactive problem-solving to every project.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of marketing experience, preferably in B2C, education-focused environments. Preference may be given to candidates who previously worked in an education setting (teachers, teaching assistants, etc).
Proven experience managing social media platforms (e.g., Meta, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn) with a track record of growing reach, engagement, and audience.
Proven experience creating short-form video content for social platforms, including ideation, filming, editing, and optimizing content for audience engagement across channels such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
Deep knowledge of the Canadian education market, including education policy, curriculum frameworks, and teacher priorities.
Strong understanding of community engagement and relationship-building, particularly within educator or purpose-driven spaces.
Experience gathering and applying audience insights through social listening, analytics, and direct feedback.
Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone while maintaining brand voice and an educator-first approach.
Comfortable analyzing performance metrics and translating data into actionable improvements.
Preference will be given to skilled content creators with experience producing blogs, email campaigns, webinars, video content, and user-generated content.
