We are looking for an analytical, detail-oriented Technical SEO Executive to support our technical SEO strategy and ensure our website’s infrastructure is fully optimised. Reporting directly to the Technical SEO Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving search engine visibility for our large-scale sites of over 1 million pages.

With our increased investment in technical SEO, this role offers an excellent opportunity to grow your expertise in a dynamic environment. You will assist in conducting site audits, monitor daily site health, and execute technical fixes to resolve crawl errors, indexing challenges, and site speed issues.

You will work closely with the Technical SEO Manager, developers, and content teams to implement SEO best practices, support international growth initiatives, drive split testing initiatives, and execute our internal linking strategy. Staying curious and informed about industry trends will be key as you help our team scale our technical SEO efforts, uphold QA standards for new releases, and maintain our organic search rankings.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Health and Monitoring:

  • Conduct routine technical SEO crawls and assist the Manager in comprehensive site audits.

  • Identify, flag, and help resolve day-to-day technical issues, including crawl errors, broken links, redirect chains, and indexing problems.

Crawl Budget Support:

  • Monitor log files and Google Search Console data to assist in optimising our crawl budget, ensuring search engines efficiently find and index our high-value pages.

Testing and Implementation:

  • Support the execution of the SEO split testing roadmap.

  • Help set up tests, monitor daily progress, and gather data to measure performance gains.

Internal Linking Execution:

  • Implement and maintain internal linking initiatives based on the overarching strategy set by the Manager, utilising seasonal and commercial value data.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Draft clear, actionable SEO tickets for developers.

  • Work day-to-day with the development and product teams to ensure smooth implementation of technical fixes and new website features.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Pull regular performance reports and monitor daily SEO dashboards.

  • Analyze technical SEO data to track the impact of recent optimisations and escalate potential drops or issues to the Manager.

Industry Trends and Algorithm Updates:

  • Stay current with the latest trends, tools, and developments in technical SEO, applying this knowledge to your daily tasks.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an SEO Executive, SEO Assistant, or in a similar role with a strong focus on technical SEO.

  • Solid understanding of search engine algorithms, crawling, indexing, and core ranking factors.

  • Hands-on experience with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Botify, SEMrush, or equivalent.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets to interpret data, spot trends, and build reports.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical SEO requirements into clear tasks for cross-functional teams.

  • A basic understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how they impact search engines.

  • Experience or a strong interest in working on large-scale websites (1 million+ pages) would be a distinct advantage.

Benefits:

In return for everything you can bring, we can offer you an exciting role in a fast-growing and dynamic business, with plenty of career opportunities. Here’s a couple of the things that make Twinkl a great place to be:
