Overview:
As Country Manager for Australia, you will lead Twinkl’s strategic vision, growth, and operations in the Australian market. You will develop and execute a robust country-specific strategy, oversee all functional teams, manage financial performance, and ensure Twinkl becomes the most trusted partner for educators across Australia.
You will be an experienced leader with a deep understanding of the education sector, and well-connected within Australian educational networks. Your role will involve driving sales and customer growth, influencing product development, and ensuring the delivery of impactful solutions to Australian educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Twinkl’s strategy and growth in Australia, aligning with global goals and ensuring long-term, sustainable success.
- Represent Twinkl’s mission and values across the region, sharing insights on local education priorities and market trends.
- Oversee profit and loss with a strong focus on impact, efficiency, and financial sustainability.
- Drive collaboration across sales, marketing, customer support, and product teams to deliver exceptional results.
- Identify and capitalise on opportunities for market expansion, school memberships, and customer growth.
- Strengthen customer acquisition, retention, and re-engagement through data-led insights and proactive lifecycle management.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to maintain a competitive edge and strong renewal rates.
- Work closely with central B2B and partnerships teams to increase adoption and visibility across schools and institutions.
- Build and nurture relationships with educators, government bodies, and key stakeholders in the education sector.
- Represent Twinkl at key conferences, events, and forums to elevate our reputation and influence across the market.
- Shape and lead the content and product strategy for Australia, ensuring alignment with local curricula and educator needs.
- Drive localisation across resources, user experience, pricing, and marketing communications to reflect local contexts.
- Inspire, lead, and develop a high-performing local team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and well being.
- Partner with global teams to ensure alignment, knowledge-sharing, and consistent execution across functions.
Experience and skills required:
We are seeking a seasoned leader who possesses a high degree of commerciality and the drive to significantly maximise our market share and profitability in Australia. The successful candidate must demonstrate:
- Strong understanding of the Australian education system and the needs of educators.
- Prior teaching experience is highly desirable, ideally combined with school or district leadership exposure.
- Proven track record in operations, commercial, or general management within EdTech or a similar industry.
- Demonstrated success scaling a business or product in the Australian market with clear P&L accountability.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, a data-driven mindset, and entrepreneurial approach.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across global teams.
- Experienced in leading and motivating cross-functional teams, driving performance and innovation.
- Commercially astute, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
