Twinkl is a global educational publisher dedicated to helping those who teach. It achieves this by creating and curating an extensive (>1.5 million) catalogue of resources for a diverse customer base of teachers, parents and educational institutions in over 190 countries and regions. As a fast-growing, mission-driven organisation, we are building a high-impact Strategy & Operations team to help us scale quickly and sustainably with confidence and conviction

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager for the Strategy and Operations team. Keep reading if you:

  • thrive in fast-moving, high-growth environments,

  • are a proactive, problem-solver,

  • can build the PMO capability and toolkits required to scale an organisation

  • translate strategic goals into clear, actionable project plans,

  • are exceptionally organised, with a high attention to detail,

  • bring structure, clarity, and momentum to complex, multi-threaded initiatives, and

  • are a natural cross-functional communicator and influencer

Core Responsibilities:

  • Programme Leadership & Execution: Lead the end-to-end delivery of high-stakes strategic initiatives. You will manage complex programmes, ensuring business milestones are synchronised with product and technical delivery cycles

  • PMO Capability & Toolkit Building: Act as the architect for our project management maturity. You will design and implement a standardised PMO toolkit, including governance frameworks, reporting templates, and best-practice playbooks to be used across the organisation

  • Risk & Dependency Management: Proactively identify and mitigate programme-level risks. You will be responsible for "Triage" - evaluating in-flight work to identify where to support momentum and where to intervene to prevent rework or lost effort

  • Stakeholder Management & Governance: Facilitate high-level project meetings and serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership, providing "one version of the truth" regarding programme health, resource bottlenecks, and strategic alignment

  • Mentorship & Operational Excellence: Lead by example in building a culture of excellence. You will manage and mentor project managers, upskilling the wider team in structured project delivery and risk management

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience: Significant experience in an operational or Project/Programme Manager role, with a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects

  • Delivery Fluency: Practical experience working alongside product and engineering teams. You understand the nuances of digital delivery, from scoping and development to testing and launch, and can plan accordingly

  • PMO Architecture: Experience building or significantly maturing a PMO function, including the selection and rollout of centralised project management tools and standards

  • Problem-Solving & Triage: A talent for breaking down complex strategic goals into manageable plans and the confidence to pause or pivot “in-flight" work to ensure long-term success

  • Risk & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional skills in identifying, tracking, and mitigating project risks, as well as managing the expectations of diverse stakeholders

  • Communication & Influence: The ability to clearly and persuasively communicate project status and risks to both technical teams and senior leadership, navigating diverse stakeholder perspectives

  • Commercial Acumen: A strong understanding of business fundamentals and the ability to connect project outcomes to strategic and financial goals

Example KPIs:

  • Toolkit Adoption: Successful implementation and 100% adoption of the standardised PMO toolkit across core strategic workstreams

  • Portfolio Health: Percentage of key strategic projects delivered against success criteria, within agreed timelines and release windows

Stakeholder Satisfaction: Qualitative and quantitative measures of how effectively the PMO function supports cross-functional goals and reduces operational friction
