Location: Oxford, UK/ hybrid - working in the office 2 days a week

Hours: Full time (35 hours a week) or part time (4 days/28 hours) considered

Salary: £32,000 (FTE)

Educake is an award-winning and rapidly growing educational technology business providing online teaching and learning resources to hundreds of thousands of teachers and students around the world. We are based in Oxford.

We’re looking for someone to lead our customer marketing activities, for a fixed term until December 2026. The role is pivotal within the business and the successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:


  • Leading on customer marketing, including automated, ad-hoc and seasonal communications. This will include written communications, as well as webinars, videos and in-person visits. 

  • Testing new initiatives to increase customer engagement including to support onboarding, usage and renewal. 

  • Conducting research into customer engagement, satisfaction and (non-)renewal, analysing results, and sharing this information internally.

  • Identifying teachers who might become suitable Educake advocates and working with the rest of the marketing team to capitalise on their enthusiasm. 

  • Working with Educake advocates on the creation of written case studies or other content opportunities. 

  • Working closely with the rest of the marketing team to share ideas, content and best practice. 

  • Working with the sales, account management, editorial and product teams to support customer engagement targets, including sales conversion, renewals and onboarding. 



Qualifications and skills 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading.

  • Experience writing and sending bulk emails (experience using Intercom would be a benefit). 

  • Organised and detail-orientated.

  • Comfortable working with data - excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Enthusiastic team player who is confident building relationships with new people.

  • Experience working in an education or tech business would be a bonus. 

  • 3+ years experience working in marketing or communications field.
