As a Statistician, you will play a fundamental role in supporting the Data Team and the wider Business  to identify the key sub level metrics they should be optimising for, to influence our top level metrics. You will collaborate closely with product teams to understand their objectives and deliver the insights they need to maximise business and customer impact. 


Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Statistician to join our data team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analysing, and interpreting our data sets, and providing actionable insights and recommendations to drive decision-making across various departments. This role requires a strong foundation in statistical theory, as well as experience with data analysis tools and techniques. The Statistician will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and contribute to the Twinkl’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis & Interpretation:

    • Analyse and interpret data using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports.

    • Develop and apply statistical models to identify sub level metrics driving our top level metrics.

    • Identify trends, patterns, and relationships in complex data sets.

  • Statistical Consulting:

    • Consult with internal teams to define data analysis needs.

    • Provide expert advice on the design and methodology of experiments, surveys, and observational studies.

    • Assist in the interpretation and communication of statistical results.

  • Data Collection & Management:

    • Develop and implement data collection systems and strategies.

    • Ensure data integrity and accuracy through rigorous validation procedures.

    • Manage large datasets and maintain databases for analysis.

  • Reporting & Communication:

    • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

    • Prepare detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations based on statistical analysis.

    • Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to translate data-driven insights into actionable business strategies.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay updated with the latest statistical methodologies and software.

    • Continuously improve processes for data analysis and reporting.

    • Provide training and guidance to junior analysts and other team members as needed.



We are looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience working as a Statistician.

  • Strong experience in data analysis, statistical modelling, and data visualisation.

  • Has a proven track record in delivering data-driven insights with a measurable impact on business. outcomes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Is proficient working with SQL and BigQuery (Python good to have too but not necessary) and has experience with any visualisation software (we currently use Tableau).

  • Is able to prioritise and work with deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Can communicate complex findings and insights to an array of stakeholders including members of the Executive Team.
