PMLD Teaching Assistant (Temp-to-Perm)

Location: Bradford (BD8)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Pay Rate: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour

About the Role:

Elevate Supply is currently working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the BD8 area of Bradford, looking to appoint a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This is a full-time, term-time role with the potential to become permanent for the right person.

In this role, you’ll be helping children aged 4–11 with complex learning needs access education in a way that works for them. The school offers a nurturing environment with a strong focus on sensory and therapeutic learning approaches.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, tailoring learning activities to meet their individual needs

  • Assisting with personal care, such as feeding, toileting, and mobility, while always promoting dignity and respect

  • Helping to implement and track progress against Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

  • Engaging pupils in sensory-based sessions like sensory stories, hydrotherapy, and movement activities

  • Keeping accurate records of progress and working closely with teachers and support staff to meet each child’s needs

  • Following safeguarding policies to ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Someone with experience supporting children or young people with PMLD or complex learning needs

  • A patient, kind and understanding person who’s passionate about helping others

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, able to work well with school staff, therapists, and families

  • Any relevant qualifications in SEN, care, or education are welcome—but not essential

  • Someone open to learning and professional development
