Maths Cover Supervisor – North Sheffield | Elevate Supply

Elevate Supply is proud to be working with a fantastic secondary school in North Sheffield, which is seeking a confident and motivated Maths Cover Supervisor to join their team after the May half term. This is a brilliant opportunity to support students' learning in maths and gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive school environment.

🟢 Pay Rate: £90 – £110 per day, depending on experience.

Contract: Full-time, starting after May half term and continuing through to the end of the academic year, with the potential to transition into a permanent role from September 2025.

The Role: As a Maths Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into the classroom to deliver pre-prepared maths lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. You’ll help maintain a focused, positive learning environment and ensure that students remain on task throughout the lesson.

Your Responsibilities:

• Supervise maths lessons across KS3 and KS4 using pre-set resources

• Ensure students are engaged and completing their work

• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policy

• Report back on student progress and behaviour to teaching staff

• Provide basic support to pupils with questions or clarification

What We’re Looking For:

• A degree in a relevant subject (Maths or related field preferred)

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students (e.g., in a school, tutoring, mentoring, or youth work)

• Confident classroom presence and strong communication skills

• A flexible, calm, and proactive approach

• An enhanced DBS on the update service is required (or willingness to obtain one through Elevate Supply)

• Available full-time and ready to start after May half term
